How’s your week been?
Last week many of you wrote to me thanking me for being honest about being in a funk and confessed the guilt and shame for feeling the same way.
“I’m not doing enough”
“I feel bad”
“Why can’t I just get going?”
These were just some of the messages I heard.
Today’s email is coming to you on International Women’s Day and I believe it’s a great opportunity to not only celebrate women all around the world but to also reflect how we want to show up not just for ourselves but for our children, communities, and society at large.
Beating yourself up and talking trash to yourself is never a good strategy and it can sometimes be hard to realize you’re doing it.
I believe that our “funks” or challenges are actually opportunities to address what’s not working, out of alignment or needs correcting.
Rather than judging, let’s see these “obstacles” as feedback to simply getting back on track.
The truth is…when you allow yourself to objectively get to the heart of what’s going on for you, then the answers come and you move through the icky-ness.
Maybe you’re in a funk because you:
…need more rest
…need to pay attention to a certain relationship or belief system that’s holding you back
…aren’t doing things for the right reasons
There are a million things that could be going on. Rather than beating yourself up for feeling the way you feel simply let it be.
Watch this week’s video blog to learn how to snap yourself out of a funk.

Hey everyone! I’m coming to you again from the country park for this week’s video.
This week I want to talk about the power of knowing yourself, giving yourself the nurturing that you need so that you can get back on track and move through that funk.
Last week I was talking about how I wasn’t sure about some of the decisions I wanted to make in my business in terms of career direction.
It’s amazing because all of a sudden, all these different ideas and confirmations came through.
As an aside: years ago I set the tagline business as “soulful career strategy for the driven woman” and that’s really been my guiding mantra. Exploring all things spiritual, soulful, alchemical, divine feminine, universe, quantum physics. I’ve really gone down quite the rabbit hole with all of this. I’m certainly not an expert but I’m definitely a student for life.
I’m still blown away that when you embrace this way of being: which is open to how your thoughts create your reality and being open to the fact that the universe is out there supporting you, then you see life differently and it really does show up for you when you need it most.
So when I was in a funk last week, I spoke to a friend and she was amazing and very kindly lifted me up out of my funk and helped me see some things that I couldn’t see for myself.
She mentioned some names in terms of people she thought that I would be stepping into in terms of my potential, and I kid you not, I kept on seeing videos, interviews with these people.
I thought “oh my goodness, what is this about?” and I felt so much more confident that “yes this is the direction I want to take to move my business forward” (more on that later by the way, it’s still very new and raw) but I realised….
That when you tune into something that you do desire, when you get yourself out of the funk and get to the heart of what’s going on for you, then the answers come.
The inspiration is there.
You are lifting your eyes to see what is possible as opposed to all the challenges that are in the way that stop what is possible for you.
I invite you this week (there’s always an invitation!) to explore what it is that you DO want.
Set an intention and this can be any intention…
You can run a little experiment if you like.
Ask yourself “can I get some confirmation on something?”
….want to know where you’re going next in your career
…need some ideas on how to handle a challenging situation you’ve got going on in your life
Or perhaps it’s something different.
Keep your eyes, ears and heart open to see what answers you get.
…..Books may come into your radar
…..People may talk about things that are completely relevant to your topic
…..You may get an idea or
….You may be connected to somebody that opens up something for you
Allow yourself to step into the creative possibility and play with this.
I’ll tell you, when you can embrace this way of being where you invite the universe to co-create with you and allow your thoughts to create your reality but in a really empowering way….that’s where the fun begins.
That’s where you can really create a life that you desire and step into your full potential.
That’s what I see my job and role to be….
To support you to step into your full potential because I think we need more conscious, heart centred women…exactly like you….to rise up the ranks and create an impact in society.
I will say this:
Creating an impact in society doesn’t mean you have to be CEO or start your own business, you can do this simply by the way that you’re being and showing up right now.
And that is what I intend for you.
So let me know how you go with this.
In the comments below, let me know:
What intention are you setting?
What answer are you looking to get?
I would absolutely love to know.
Have fun with this experiment.
I wish you a beautiful and fun week and a very Happy International Women’s Day! Here’s to you and us!
P.S. Happy International Women’s Day: Here’s to you! Every month I open up a handful of complementary strategy calls to support conscious heart-centred women (like you) to have the confidence to step into the work you’re here to do.
