You’re a busy woman with only so much time in the day. Your job takes up most of your waking hours and you want to work smarter not Cheap OEM Software cheap harder. So how do you maximise your time and get your important work done? And finally stop beating yourself up for not doing more?
First things first recognise that you are doing great and probably getting a lot more done that you think. Acknowledge all the things that you’ve managed to achieve in the past day or week. I mean it, go back over your to do list or calendar and see what you’ve managed to tick off your list.
Once you’ve done that go back and ask yourself, what are your top 5 priorities in life right now?
This could be your career, starting your business on the side, spending time with your family and friends, exercise and health.
Write these down and make a note of these on a sticky note and make sure these are somewhere in sight daily. If you’re a pen and paper gal grab an old fashion post it note. If you’re a digital babe then put this in your calendar and set a reminder whenever you get in the office so that you can do a quick review to make sure your day and week are in alignment with those priorities.
Once you’ve done that, take a look at your calendar to see what you’ve actually been spending your time on and whether this aligns with your priorities. For example, if you say exercise and health are important but you’ve not made it to the gym or yoga class for the last 3 weeks, something’s out of line. Make sure you put something in your diary THIS WEEK to help you with your priority to exercise.
Make a routine of checking in on a Friday to see how you spent the week and then plan the week ahead according to your priorities. I’m a big believer in doing your reviewing and prepping for the week ahead on a Friday. That way you’re way ahead of the curve and ready to start Monday fresh! Plus you’ll already have your important commitments locked away so there won’t be any last minute deviations from your priorities.
