How’s your week going?
If you’ve been following along with the past few weeks blog posts you’ll be in the process of re-setting and re-jigging your goals list to the things that really matter.
This week we’re in the home stretch (D in the ABCD formula) and going to talk about the final, most important, super-critical step to making your soul aligned goals happen.
I don’t know about you but my natural tendency is to set big goals in a lot of areas in my life and then can feel like a massive underachiever because I seem to be making a snail’s pace progress towards them.
I’ve come to realise that you can’t fire your cylinders all the time…not without the risk of burnout, decision fatigue, and resentment.
Instead, I like to adopt a simple little approach to refocusing my time on the important things that truly matter.
And that’s what I want to talk to you about in this week’s blog post…

Hey guys! We’re in the home stretch. I’m going to talk about the final step in the ABCD formula to achieving soul aligned goals.
First we talked about Achievement in Part A.
Then Part B getting clear on answering the question:
“These goals that I want to achieve are important to me BECAUSE….”
So that’s getting to the why behind the goals.
Part C was all about “commitment” and what it’s actually going to take to help you make that goal come to life.
This week we’re talking about D The final step.
If you haven’t watched the prior videos, then make sure you do…
Part A: Achievement
Part B: Because?
Part C: Commitment
D is all about making the decision.
Too often we will set a goal but we don’t make a firm decision and say “yes this is what I’m going to do” and “yes this is really important to me.”
Let’s go back to the health example.
If you want to get fit and healthy and you want to drop that last 10 pounds and it feels like the right goal for you. You’re clear on the commitment it’ll require, you’re going to have to make a decision.
This decision rests solely with you.
When you make that decision it’s very difficult to blame other people as to why you can’t achieve your goals..
…e.g. The gym wasn’t open, my trainer didn’t help me.
This step is about taking personal responsibility for making the decision.
It’s a mindset “I’m going to make it happen no matter what.”
My question to you is:
What goal are you looking to set?
What decision can you make today in order to decide whether it’s something you’re going to pursue or not?
The decisions you make on what NOT to pursue is equally important.
What happens is we have ideas and goals hanging around us and they drain us and take up energy and hold us back.
So look at the decision around the goals you’re:
- Going to pursue
- Going to stop pursuing
The latter you can take off your shoulders, park them for 6-12 months or perhaps take them off your list entirely.
Free yourself up.
Free your energy up to make the goals that truly matter – happen.
So I would love to hear from you.
What decisions are you going to make today to achieve that goal or take that goal off your list?

In the meantime have a beautiful week!
