How’s your week been?
Last week I spoke about how following the cycles of life can (counterintuitively) be a more a more productive way to a soul aligned career….
Whilst this brought comfort to some of you, many of you said that you still wanted some help to navigate through the fog when you’re in the “winter” phase of the cycle and feeling bummed out.
And I hear you: being in winter can be frustrating as hell.
Whilst you can sit it out and ride the season…it’s also a perfect time to do the introspective work and align to your real path.
But where do you start when you’re looking at life as a whole and questioning if you’re in the right career, moving in the right direction and making the right choices…
It can get overwhelming…
So this week, I got my thinking cap on how I can best support you when you feel like you need to hit the reset button on EVERYTHING.
Watch this week’s video to learn the 3 components to hitting the reset button on your life and career without making any hasty decisions that you’ll regret.
Short on time? Read on for the transcript.
Are you currently spending all of your time and energy at work?
Whether you’re physically at the office or working outside of office hours or thinking about work on the weekends….
If you feel like you need to get yourself back on track and get a life, this week’s episode is for you.
You’re not alone in working hard.
We live in a “working hard” culture.
To be honest it’s not a bad thing.
I’m guessing that working hard has got you to where you are at your career today.
Yet if you’re working hard for the sake of it and you feel like you’re not happy or fulfilled and there are things that are falling to the wayside….
….Maybe you’re not eating right
….Nor getting to the gym
….Perhaps you’re not spending time with your family and your children
….Or maybe you’re just not living and enjoying life outside of the office
If that’s you then it’s going to take a toll.
This week’s video is all about supporting you to take a step back and reassess where it is that you’re going and how you can bring life back into your life aka hit the reset button.
There’s a famous saying…
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
For us gals…
All work and no play makes Jack a dull girl.
My goal for you this week is to bring back that radiance, bring back the energy, and bring back that sense of fun and play because part of the reason you’re here on earth is not just the work you do but to really enjoy life along the way.
We can often be reminded about this when…
….Sickness occurs in the family
….We fall sick ourselves
….We hear of certain tragedies around us.
I don’t want you to wait until that happens.
You have the power right now to come back to the driving seat of your life and make sure that you’re really steering your ship in a direction that you really want to go.
Success is one part of the reason that you’re working so hard.
Success to me is the external:
- Having a certain title
- The prestige from working with a certain company
- Earning a certain salary
- Getting a certain bonus
- The perks of healthcare all that kind of stuff.
While success is really important and we all strive for that. I believe that fulfillment is often underrated and often neglected.
And that’s what I want to talk about today so that you can get back on track to creating fulfillment for yourself.
I’ve got an awesome little freebie to help you with this, a worksheet to support you to hit the life and career reset button so make sure that you stay tuned.
So going back to fulfillment…
What the heck is it?
Fulfillment is defined as:
“The achievement of something desired promised or predicted”
This is about achieving something that really matters, something that feels good to you.
But the thing is…. sometimes we can go after goals that we’ve been taught to go after. They might not necessarily be what we really are super excited about.
So I believe that embodied fulfillment is what’s really important and embodied fulfillment in my books is something that you feel deep in your bones.
It’s that feeling that you get when you’re super proud that you’ve done something that really matters to you.
It lasts longer than a fleeting moment.
It’s something that you look back on. You know as you review life and it sticks with you.
So I define embodied fulfillment….
“The achievement of something desired promised or predicted through the energy and resonance of one’s soul”
And you beautiful one has a unique soul.
You have a unique energy.
You have a unique reason you’re here.
You have a unique blueprint for success.
So I will talk about the three components to embodied fulfillment and there’s a worksheet that goes along with this so that you can start to map where you sit on the scale.
Then you can start to look at the next 90 days and objectively assess:
- Where do I need to be focusing?
- What’s a little tweak I need to make?
- What little action step I can take to make sure that I’m actually enjoying this journey not just working really hard?
Because here’s the thing….
Many of us get stuck in jobs we don’t love. And part of the reason is that we don’t actually stop and assess the direction that we’re going into achieving goals for achievement sake.
This whole exercise is really about you coming back to what’s right for you.
So the three components to embodied fulfillment…
Let’s run through these briefly.
Component #1: Experiences
Component #2: Growth
Component #3: Contribution
So let’s just take each of these in turn and you’ll be able to use the worksheet to figure out where do I need to plug the gaps where do I need to be focusing.
Component #1: Experiences
This is all about how you interact view and experience the world on a day to day basis.
Typically our experiences are felt through:
- Physical environment
Component #2: Growth
Growth is really about how you’re learning and developing as a person. This is a basic human need for all of us…
We want to grow. We want to evolve and grow.
Typically we through:
- Health + Fitness
- Creativity + Fun
Many of us are actually quite depleted in this area because we don’t prioritize it.
Component #3: Contribution
This is about how you share your gifts with the world and make a difference beyond yours.
- Your career or business
So as I reflect these areas back to you I want you to ask yourself:
- In which area are you rocking yet?
- In which area do you need work?
Download the free workbook to help you figure out where you’re at so that you can make an action plan to reset your life and career.
For example, right now I know for me….
Health and fitness is where I need to focus.
I’ve not been feeling very well. I’ve kind of let things slide.
We had a long weekend and I let go of my healthy eating. We made homemade pasta and went for pizza so I’m feeling a little bit gross.
Whilst it’s okay to do something against, I know I need to go back to my health and fitness.
So for me, it’s coming back to eating and onto a regular exercise routine.
This is really going to help me get back on track and make the biggest difference to my life.
It doesn’t have to be huge. It can be really small.
My goal for you is to use this framework to help you think about your life and career as a whole and hit the reset button holistically…because your career is a small piece of the success and fulfillment puzzle.
When you can figure out where to make some changes in the other areas you’ll live a little, your energy will change, and you’ll bring back that radiance.
Your creativity will spark and you’ll get new ideas for your next iteration of your career journey!
So I would love to hear from you….
- Which area are you going to focus?
- Growth, experiences or contribution?
- What’s the one action step you can take to move forward in that particular area
