A couple of months ago, my friend messaged me and said “do you want to try out a gong bath?”
I wasn’t sure what a gong bath was…
But was immediately brought back to the crystal singing bowl healing I experienced when I visited Crystal Castle with my friend a couple years ago. As you do when you’re near Byron Bay – one of the most healing places on the planet.
I’d never experienced anything so relaxing.
So when my friend sent me the text I felt a whole body “YES!” before my mind could catch up….
The gong bath was amazing and since then I’ve been a regular every month.
When I went last month, my neighbour turned to me and said “Hey Siobhan! It’s Bonita!”
The last time I spoke to Bonita was 3 years ago when she was in a job she didn’t love, pregnant and unsure of her next career steps.
Fast forward to today, she’s since quit her successful 13 year career in journalism and finance (just earlier this year) and has gone full time in her own wellness and education company CATCH with her friend and business partner all whilst being a mum to her almost 2 year old son.
After meeting Bonita again (don’t you just love those serendipitous moments?) I wanted to share with you her story…
We all have our fears around pursuing our dreams and leaving behind the stability of a path that makes sense on paper.
So many of you have told me you want to start a business but are scared of leaving behind an established corporate career.
So many have told me that you’re not sure you can do it.
So many of you are worried about the money.
I get it. I really do. I’ve been there and know how hard it can be.
This week I share with you a video interview with Bonita where she shares her own personal journey from corporate to entrepreneur. She shares:
- How she decided on her business idea
- How she and her business partner identified a gap in the market
- How she went about testing her idea
- What motivated her to quit her job and go full time in her business
- Why she went into a business partnership and why it’s working
- Her advice to other aspiring entrepreneurs
- The way she handles rejection and “failure” and finds the inspiration to keep on going
- How motherhood has made her better in business and in life in general
And so much more!
If you’re looking to start a business and eventually quit your job or simply want some inspiration to go after that idea, project or calling whilst being practical and grounded in reality, then this week’s video blog is for you.
If you’re in a hurry….
Here are Bonita’s top tips on how to make the transition into your business (or project or calling for that matter)
- Have conversations with people you know and trust for feedback.
- Trust yourself and get to know yourself during the exploration process.
- Take your time. Find comfort in starting small.
I absolutely love Bonita’s advice and want to hear from you…what’s your #1 takeaway from her interview? Leave a comment below.
