There’s a line from A Course in Miracles that says “we teach what we need to learn.”
Whilst I’ve been hearing that phrase for a long time….I’m only truly just starting to truly embody it’s meaning.
The other day I had a pretty packed day….
I’ve recently signed up to do a Spartan race and committed to meeting my team once a week for a workout session.
So the day of the team workout was packed with everyday stuff…
Kids at school in the morning, market shopping, a couple of playdates with my kids in the afternoon and dinner together with some friends.. It was a beautiful day and it was pretty manic.
Right bang in the middle of it? I got a flat tyre and had to go to the garage.
Whilst I was hoping to make it to the garage safely, inside I couldn’t help but smile.
In the middle of “maximising my day” (old habits die hard!) I got my lesson:
Slow Down In Order to Speed Up.
Whilst I could have been annoyed with the flat tyre I couldn’t help but thank the universe for reminding me that I was pushing too hard.
That’s the beauty of life hey?
In order to learn the lesson, we’ve got to experience the opposite.
Do you ever feel like you’re trying to cram in too much and driving yourself nuts in the process? Or not getting very far?
I hear you and I’ve got you covered….
This week I’m coming to you live from the country park with 3 things you can do when you’re slowing down and assessing your next move.
Not in a place where you can watch the video?
No problemo! Read on for the transcript.
So this week I’m coming to you live from the Country Park.
Hong Kong is not all office buildings. We’ve also got beautiful seas, country parks and hiking trails.
I thought that I would shoot this week’s video from here because I’m taking a little time out to be quiet, reflect and check in with how things are going.
The theme and the mantra that’s coming up for me this week is:
Slow Down In Order To Speed Up
Yesterday I had a pretty hectic day, it wasn’t a day of slowing down.
It was a day of everyday stuff: exercise, market shopping, I got a flat tyre had to go to the garage, had a couple of playdates with my kids and I got to have dinner with some friends. It was a beautiful day. But it was pretty manic.
I didn’t get to work on my business but that’s fine. It’s good to have a little step away.
Today has been a bit of a quieter day looking at what’s really going on, checking in with urgent priorities, what to be focusing on etc.
The mantra that’s coming up: Slow Down To Speed Up.
Sometimes we can get so overwhelmed with our to-do lists right?
There’s so much to do.
Gotta keep go-go-going.
But it’s not always about go-go-going.
It’s not always about ticking those items off the to-do list.
Quite frankly if they’re not working on the right action items, you’re wasting your time.
So taking a moment to step back, re-set, re-calibrate with that internal guide of yours.
Is it time to ask yourself these questions:
- Is this the right thing to be doing?
- Am I on purpose?
- Am I on the right path?
I invite you to take 5 minutes out.
Check in and…
- See how you’re doing
- Celebrate what is working in your life and what you’ve achieved
- Take something off your to-do list
Focus on what really matters.
Slowing down truly can help you to speed up.
This has really helped me in my own business.
The more I’m learning this lesson myself the more changes I’m making and the more aligned I am.
I’ve got some exciting new changes coming in the business in the coming months so stay tuned for those.
Most recently I qualified as a Rapid Transformational Therapist (RTT) which is super exciting. It’s such a powerful modality to bust through those limiting beliefs that are running the show.
We form these beliefs as children and we don’t even know that they’re there and it’s such a cool modality.
I’m also doing soul readings. Helping you to see who you are at soul level. It’s super fun!
These are all super cool tools that I’m in love with that bring me so much joy and I can’t to share these with you very soon.
I believe that now more than ever we’re not looking for straight-forward career advice, we’re really looking for the deeper answers to:
- Why are we here?
- What contributions are we here to make?
- What are we here to do?
And that’s what I’m committed to guiding you on and supporting you with.
So slowing down has helped me to speed up in the direction of my purpose.
I invite you to check in with yourself and see how you can slow down and check in with where you’re at in your journey and make sure you’re moving in the right direction.
I’m going to go it’s really hot and sweaty.
That’s my message for this week.
If you have any questions, send me a message and let me know. I’d love to hear from you and know where you’re at on your journey
Have a wonderful week!
